Happy Labor Day
Updated: 21 hours ago

Labor Day has come again. A day meant to celebrate the contribution of workers (and I do try to remember this and honor this as I deeply believe that every job is important and worthy of respect, a living wage, and the opportunity to create a joy filled life), it signals additionally the unofficial end to summer. Today I am looking back on what I have accomplished in this past season, the celebrations, vacations, and relaxations. Every season I create a vision board- I will be doing a post on that topic at the end of the year. This year my summer board was filled with crafts, recipes, books, and shows I wanted to see. I have done nearly all of it. So as summer winds down, I find myself grateful, happy and wanting to work on one last project- creating some purse charms.
In terms of finding joy today, I took one last day to relax and have a slow summer day. I finished a wonderful book- Somewhere Beyond the Sea by T.J. Klune. It is a sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea (this link is an amazon affiliate link) and I must say that this author writes about love- all kinds of love- with a beauty and sincerity that I have not encountered before. I cannot recommend both books enough.
I hope everyone who comes across my blog is able to have a day to relax and enjoy a simple pleasure like reading, doing a craft, putting together a puzzle, or watching a movie. There is so much joy to be found in these simple acts and I wish that joy for everyone.
